What is a “good” name?

It’s the one that quickly identifies the company, the one that sticks in your memory but that is not likely to be confused with something else.
It’s the one that sounds good, is easy to remember and sounds like what it stands for (your values, your targets, your business).
Finally, it is the one that will refer to you, and no one else: having a unique name makes it considerably easier for those who are looking for you.

It carries or underlines your name, summarizes who you are and what you do, and is what identifies you at a glance to your clients and partner… your logo of course!

In order for it to fulfill its function, it must be the result of a thorough and serious reflection. At Spade, we entrust your brand image to our team of designers – this studio work ensures a plurality of proposed options, crossed views and a combination of know-how to concoct the most suitable logo for you.

Your tastes and what you want to show about yourself are reflected in your name, your logo, but also in the typography used on your website and in your documents, the layout of your visuals, the choice of colours, shapes, types of images, etc.

To remain consistent over the long term and from one medium to another, it is necessary to document everything and to list all the elements to be found here and there (as well as the possible variants), along with a few examples.

This “guide to colours, fonts and imagery” is the graphic charter: the documentation of the visual identity of your project and/or your company. We therefore summarize all this information in a single file, to be kept.

This is the basic material for your communication and promotional material. Business cards, letterheads, presentation slides (Powerpoint, Keynote…), brochures, possible goodies, etc., each format requires a specific layout that takes into account the elements of your identity (it is, in fact, a first step in the application of your new graphic charter). We produce all this, business cards, brochures in different formats and sizes, as well as presentation templates. For paper production, we do the design, layout and file preparation. The printing itself is done at our partner Meaprint (in Charleroi).

While the graphic charter covers the entire environment of your company (or project), from paper media to goodies and the website, the Design System is the specific technical documentation for the digital environment. It lists the various options for using the visual identity on digital media: the shape and visual effects of buttons, the font size and style of titles (heading 1, 2, 3, etc.), the behaviour of recurring content modules (list of articles, calls to action, etc.), any animation effects on clicking or hovering the mouse, etc.

The Design System is built on 3 axes:

  • Documentation of the visual elements of the digital interfaces
  • The technical components (associated with the corresponding technical code)
  • The textual expression of the design (the tone of voice)

Illustrations

We believe that the image of a company or a brand is to be considered as a whole and that it reaches perfection when nothing is left to chance. As the web is much richer in images (still or moving) than in text, we cannot exclude them from the reflection on your identity.

Thus, the identity can be reinforced by a recognizable graphic style: that of original illustrations. From the image that will underline your message to the one that will replace a long paragraph, from the icon to the infographic, via GIFs, large visuals or pictograms, all of this can be sketched, retouched and perfected in-house by our designers/illustrators who are committed to proposing visuals that correspond to you.

Videos

Even more effective than a still image in capturing the attention of Internet users, a short video allows you to reach a large audience while enriching your profile with sound.

Whether it’s a presentation of your company, a product teaser or a recurring news clip, Spade can help you with the editorialization (writing a script, cutting the sequences, choosing the graphic and sound design) and production of your video content.
